I'm very glad that Why's (Poignant) Guide to Ruby is my introduction to Ruby. I've now used Ruby long enough to be able to more confidently read snippets of Ruby code when I run across them.
I just wish I could spend more time reading the back story in between the parts that serve to teach one the syntax and idioms of the language. :-)
